Donna Renea Potts, MSW: Caring for others in a compassionate and comprehensive way has always been a career goal of Donna Potts. As a Master’s level Social Worker, she has performed 28 years of social work service in the panhandle of Florida and within the Southeastern United States. Donna’s career priority has focused upon serving vulnerable populations namely the disabled and elderly. She has extensive experience in care management, advocacy and resource organization. Donna started her social work career with the disabled and then moved onto the healthcare systems, working for Sacred Heart Hospital and various Departments of Health. She created and implemented a Home Health and Hospice program in rural North Carolina; served as a Hospice volunteer; provided medical case management and discharge planning in Florida for the elderly and disabled; and as a director of a local agency, implemented programs to provide for the mental health needs of the elderly. To this day, Donna considers the most important work she ever performed to be that which was provided to both her mother and mother-in-law. Being their caregiver, care manager and advocate enabled Donna to enhance her social work practice skills and resource knowledge base in order to better serve the elderly and disabled.
Terry Bush, LCSW: From the beginning of her studies, Terry Bush’s goal was to do rehabilitation work with the elderly. She earned her BA at the University of West Florida 1976, her MSW at the University of Alabama in 1977, and obtained her licensure status in 1993. After graduation, she was the Director of Social Services at the newly opened Rehabilitation Institute of West Florida. She worked as medical social worker at Baptist Hospital and then at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. Later, she went to work with Hospice and became certified to educate the community about Alzheimer’s disease. She also began to serve the courts as either a guardian or as a professional on a examining committee (hired to determine competency). Other activities that enhance her provision of guardianship services is her consultant work with the Kidney Dialysis Center, the Northwest Florida Home Health Agency (Gentiva HHC), and the Ethics Committee of Sacred Heart Hospital.
